The Bengals have always been the front-runner
On his Twitter account, all Owens would say was, "Hoping 2 b a Bengal w/in the 24hrs!!" He later said: "Ocho Uno is coming 2 town!! Hey Robin, Batman will b there soon!"
Players are required to report for the start of Bengals training camp Wednesday in Georgetown, Ky. According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Owens isn't expected to attend the morning practice Thursday, but he likely will show up for the night session.
Rosenhaus said the Bengals were Owens' first choice, giving him a chance to team with close friend Chad Ochocinco, who already has dubbed the pair Batman and Robin. The Bengals made an offer Monday, and Owens accepted it one day later, after the St. Louis Rams dropped out of the running.
"The Bengals have always been the front-runner," Rosenhaus told The Associated Press. "Even though I talked to some other teams during this process, the Bengals have always been the team that showed the most interest. Terrell has always been excited about them."
The Bengals gave Owens a tryout in March, but they decided to sign Andre Smith Antonio Bryant to a four-year, $28 million contract instead. Although he said on NFL Network that he doesn't have "direct knowledge" of the situation, Rosenhaus believes Bryant's health status played a role in the Bengals chasing Owens.
Bryant has been slowed by knee surgery, and NFL.com's Steve Wyche, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reported Tuesday that some within the Bengals' organization already feel a semblance of buyer's remorse.
Coach Marvin Lewis denied last week that the Bengals football jerseys needed Owens, telling the team's official Web site, "I don't want to speak (about Terrell). We've been down that road. I don't have a concern that we need to add anybody (at receiver)." But Lewis changed his tune this week.
"I think really we're adding a player who has been extremely productive throughout his career and really compliments the guys that we have offensively already," Lewis said Tuesday on NFL Network. "But really, when Terrell didn't sign, obviously they still had the interest and the attraction. I'm glad it was able to work out. It makes for the greater good of the football team."
The quarterback position in the NFL has, over the course of the past decade and change, become the singular most important position on the football field. Teams that are perennially in the front of the pack chasing postseason success have one common denominator: a tough-as-nails quarterback. Even if a team doesn't have a guy like Manning or Brady with a "rocket laser arm" and an apparent infrared guidance system for his throws, a guy like (and it pains me to say it) Ben Roethlisberger who can't necessarily make every single throw but has the moxie and poise to will his team into the end zone is a must.
In April of 2003, the Bengals got their guy. A sharp-looking prodigy of Norm Chow out of USC, Carson Palmer arrived hand-in-hand with Marvin Lewis as the apparent saviors of the new Cincinnati Bengals jerseys. I'm not going to rehash the events that have transpired since then, for that would be overkill as we inundate you with these previews of the rapidly-upcoming season.

Browns will capitalize on the extremely cold conditions
Durability has been an issue with Harrison in his four-year NFL career, and he hasn't appeared in all 16 games in any season yet.
After the 2009 season ended, new Browns jerseys president Mike Holmgren took full control over the team and hired a new general manager to begin the process of assessing the state of the roster.
After looking at the running back position, it is now quite obvious that both Holmgren and GM Tom Heckert thought that durability was indeed an issue with Harrison as well, and went out and picked up 6'1" 240 pound Peyton Hillis as the team's new bruiser (with soft hands to catch passes too) via the Brady Quinn trade.
Harrison is very small compared to Hillis standing only 5'9" and 205 pounds, which could also be a reason to add more depth to the position because it is very hard for a back at that size to carry the ball more than 20-25 times per game.
Also, the team of Holmgren and Heckert scouted a college back with rookie Montario Hardesty who they made a move to trade back into the second round to select and many Browns fans could not understand what the Browns were thinking since they already had Harrison, Hillis, fullback Lawrence Vickers, and James Davis.
Davis (5'11" 218 pounds) was the 2009 preseason standout, but his season was cut short due to injury and he will have a tough time making this roster. But Davis also says he is stronger than ever and if there was ever to be a dark horse candidate to surprise in the preseason it is Davis, who never forget kept C.J. Spiller on the bench at Clemson.
Now enter Hardesty, who also has had durability issues in college with his knees, but if he was fully recovered from that, then the Browns would not have taken him in the draft.
Having the size for a "featured back" in the NFL at 6'0" and 225 pounds, Hardesty has been impressing everyone from the media to the coaching staff and fans will get to see him run once training camp opens to the public in July 31.
Some Brown fans feel that the Browns are not giving Harrison the chance he deserves and earned in the last three games of the 2009 season, but Harrison also decided to miss most of the offseason program due to contract issues and that gave Hardesty all the reps with the first team and his star shined brightly without pads on.
Hardesty may have the better size, but Harrison is a great compliment to that size with his smaller frame as well. Add the bruiser in Hillis and the overall solid size and play of Davis and the Browns look to improve on their eighth ranked rushing attack from 2009.
Add in some Josh Cribbs and Seneca Wallace running from the Wildcat, the Cyclone, and perhaps even from the running back position and they both bring another dynamic to the running game too.
The last time the Browns had two running backs rush for over 1,000 yards was in 1985 when both Earnest Byner and Kevin Mack did it.
If the Browns football jerseys are going to be as run heavy as it appears and head coach Eric Mangini keeps talking about, then 2010 could be a year where both Harrison and Hardesty could reach that milestone.
Sadly, Chris Jennings may be the odd back out of the group (or it could be Davis too), but he could also land on the practice squad since he too showed promising play running as a rookie in 2009 and he used under the nine game minimum to qualify to make the squad.
Anything is possible with this roster, but once mid-November Joe Thomas hits in Cleveland, the Browns will capitalize on the extremely cold conditions by running it just as they did one season ago at the end of the season.
What comes to mind is Ryan Leaf being drafted just one pick below Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger becoming the first quarterback in his talented heavy class to get a ring, and Tom Brady remaining unsigned after the draft.
So how do we predict what the winningest quarterback in NCAA history will do?
Surprisingly and contrary to past years, analysts are reluctant to give any Shaun Rogers drafted quarterback their blessing.
Say what you want about him, but if Tim Tebow was drafted ten years earlier, he'd be a higher first round pick.
Now, however, NFL scouts, analysts, and teams loosened their grip on the trigger-happy method of evaluating quarterbacks, which is an improvement.
However, Colt McCoy is the perfect example of the pendulum swinging the opposite way.
McCoy is better than an 85th overall draft pick.
He has a killer arm, great mechanics, and has developed a maturity in his four years as a starter for Texas.
The biggest critiques I've seen are in regards to his size and his inability to succeed with any offense other than the spread.
I mean, 6'2", 210 lbs is not that small. Sure, it's smaller than the average NFL quarterback, but his arm is, or can be, better than the average quarterback.
This isn't an issue of a weird stance, like it was with Vince Young and is with Tebow, but an issue of analysts reluctant to give any quarterback the benefit of the doubt.

2010 Cincinnati Bengals in an interview published yesterday
Dave Razzano, a 22-year veteran NFL scout and member of five Super Bowl scouting staffs had nothing but great things to say about the 2010 Cincinnati Bengals in an interview published yesterday.
It's definitely worth checking out here.
Razzano isn't the first "expert" to proclaim the Bengals football jerseys a team to beat. However, his comments were especially strong in describing this year's men in stripes.
The biggest acquisitions came on offense this year, which was fueled by a pitiful performance against the New York Jets in the playoffs. The first order of business was to acquire more passing weapons for Carson Palmer and take some pressure off of Chad Ochocinco.
Antonio Bryant was signed to a four-year $48 million contract and it could turn out well. There's no question that he can be a dominant receiver when he wants to be, but he has also been a head case and prior to Jon Gruden micro-managing him, he took a year off of football.
The Bengals then spent their first-round pick on tight end Jermaine Gresham, who could be a steal after an season-ending injury cleared his final college campaign.
Matt Jones was also added to the mix and the Bengals will try to see whether he fits at all.
On defense, the Bengals added Gibril Wilson and Pacman Jones – again taking shots with former standouts who are no longer at that level for separate reasons. If it works out, the Bengals' improving defense will get stronger. If not, then both could be summer cuts.
Offensive X-Factor
Bryant and Gresham have to be the x-factors – or at least one of them. We know what Palmer,Chad Ochocinco and Cedric Benson bring to the table. Unfortunately, as we saw in the playoffs against a good Jets defense, it isn't enough.
Bryant can stretch the opposite side of the field from Ochocinco while Gresham burns linebackers on the inside all day long, but this has to come to fruition. If it does, the Bengals will have power, speed and finesse on this unit, which could approach their glory days of 2006.
If Bryant and Gresham don't have an immediate impact, the Bengals won't have the offense to endure their difficult schedule.
Defensive X-Factor
Antwan Odom has to be a game-changer for the Bengals, just as they expected when they signed him in 2008.
NFL Betting Odds
He appeared to be on the way last season, notching eight sacks in the first three games. But he was lost for the year with an ACL injury in Week 6.
The Bengals finished with just 34 sacks on the year and as mentioned, Odom's eight came in the first three games. That means that they only had 26 in their other 13 games.
The Bengals have solid cover corners, physical safeties and quality linebackers. The last missing piece is a pass rush and Odom has to lead the way.

The Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North
Brees sat out the game because the Saints had already clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
By sitting out the season finale, Brees set an NFL record for the highest completion percentage in a season at 70.62 percent, breaking Anderson's mark of 70.3 percent set in the 1982 season.
"Drew had a tremendous season, and he is an extremely accurate quarterback. Every accolade he got last year he deserved it because he was wonderful on the field," Anderson said.
Anderson spent some time with old friend and fellow former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, serving as a camp counselor at the Manning Passing Academy, which was held July 9-11 at Nicholls State University.
"We shared stories about different games, different golf tournaments and different characters that we've run into," said Anderson, who recently retired as the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback coach. "It's been fun sharing some stories with Archie."
The Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North for the second time Andre Smith since 2002 by finishing with a perfect record within the division. Carson Palmer was back from injury and played well, and Chad Ochocinco was great, but the biggest player was Cedric Benson. Benson joined the Bengals late in 2008 and showed enough to earn a contract for 2009. And he earned his money, leading the Bengals in rushing for 1251 yards in 13 games. Unfortunately playing in Cincinnati seems to have an effect on players because Benson has already been arrested once this offseason. Given the Bengals history of criminality, it's not a good sign. Benson looks like he'll escape punishment from the league, but if the courts carry through with punishment, Roger Goodell will likely follow suit. The NFL odds makers have don't like the Bengals chances to repeat as they are 3/1 to win the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The new Cincinnati Bengals jerseys have waIved injured offensive guard Jason Shirley with a non-football injury designation, the team announced.
The second-year pro from Fresno State tore his Achilles tendon in April during a basketball game.
If Shirley isn't claimed off waivers, and he probably won't be since he's out for the entire year, he'll be shifted to the Bengals' reserve-non-football injury list.
Shirley is a promising young guard whose career was on the upswing until this major injury.

Cincinnati Bengals last season was their ability to fly under the rada
"Camp may be a little lighter than usual, but it will still be a competitive training camp." Reedy said. "Right now there are two punters, two kickers, and even two long snappers. There's competition at literally every spot. Most of the starters are safe, but the last 10 to 15 spots are going to be interesting."
Given the team's recent run of defensive injuries, Reedy thinks the improved depth of defensive coordinator's Mike Zimmer's squad will be essential to maintaining the success of the NFL's fourth-ranked unit.
"They had depth last year, they could go 18, 19 deep, but now you look at the roster and they're 21, 22 deep." Reedy said. "You hope you don't have the run of injuries on defense again, but it has happened the last few years."
Competition is just what the Bengals may need to avoid complacency. The Browns are on the upswing and the Ravens significantly improved in the offseason. And despite the fact that the Steelers, Cincinnati's chief division rival, has been embroiled in player controversy much of the past few months, they still are a threat to win the division.
Hobson sees the AFC North being just as tough as ever, especially considering the Bengals defense will have six games against quarterbacks that passed for over 4,000 yards last season.
"Cleveland is coming fast and I think Baltimore may have even gone ahead of [the Bengals]. The Ravens did sort of the same things in the offseason the Bengals did," Hobson said. "You look at the schedule and you see the elite quarterbacks. [The Bengals] could be better and maybe go 8-8, 9-7. They can't fall behind early. As long as they hang in the division they can be okay."
Although he forecasts Baltimore as the team to beat in the AFC North, Reedy believes Andre Smith this Bengals team is better than the 2006 squad, which faltered to 8-8 after winning the division with an 11-5 record in 2005.
"I still make Baltimore the slight favorite, they had a slightly better offseason. Drafting Carson Palmer Sergio Kindle, Terrence Cody and a few tight ends was great for them. However, they've got some of the same questions as the Bengals." Reedy said. "I think this [Bengals] team is built better than in 2006, after the last division title. [The AFC North] is probably going to come down to the two games against the Ravens, Week Two and Week 17."
With the 2010 NFL Supplemental Draft taking place today, many wonder if the Bengals will take make a move for Unga—who recently became eligible after breaking a code violation that forced him to leave school. He's coming off an impressive career at BYU and could be a solid insurance policy considering Cincinnati is still waiting to hear whether they will have to start the 2010 season without their top running back Cedric Benson. Benson was arrested and charged with assault on June 29 from an incident that occurred in Austin, Texas at the end of May that involved him punching a an employee at Annie's West.
If a suspension is in place, which could happen Chad Ochocinco considering this is Benson's third arrest since 2008, the Bengals football jerseys would most likely need to add another running back to the depth chart to play alongside Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard—the team's current No. 2 and No. 3 running backs. During his final three seasons at BYU, Unga rushed for 3,446 yards and 35 touchdowns—making him a likely selection in today's draft.

The Denver Broncos had everyone’s attention
Neil will remain off the air until the election Nov. 2, and he blames Howard for "forcing" him off the show that covers college and national sports.
Howard said it was the station that first raised the equal time issue.
Her campaign said she would have been satisfied with free radio ads and transcripts Eddie Royalof Neil's show along with an option to re-evaluate the agreement at any time if Neil talked about politics or his campaign during the show, but the station decided to keep him off the air instead.
"Their (the station's) biggest concern was getting through the football season," Neil said Tuesday, adding that Howard's condition of being able to re-evaluate the agreement was not something the station was willing to accept.
Howard said since she is not a sports commentator, her Brian Dawkins campaign researched similar agreements that would level the playing field.
"I was never looking to have him off the air," Howard said.
But Neil said Howard's demands forced him out.

A wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals
Chad Ochocinco may be best known for his skills on the field as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals jerseys, but earlier this year, his appearance on Dancing With the Stars introduced the non-sports fans (they do exist!) to the football player's wild personality. He might not have won the coveted mirror ball trophy — he placed fourth with partner Cheryl Burke — but that didn't deter him from reality TV.
Tonight, at 9 p.m. ET, Ochocinco will head back to the small screen, this time looking for love in his new VH1 reality show, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch. (The football star, who wears the number 85 on his back, begins his quest tonight with 85 women from all over the country.) Ochocinco wouldn't give out any spoilers, but he said everyone can relate to his new show — even his football fans who might be skeptical of a dating show. "People know me when it comes to football. To be able to see me in a different light is what makes it interesting," he says. Ochocinco took some time to tell us about the show and his dating style.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Where did the concept for your show come from?
CHAD OCHOCINCO: I'm not exactly sure how the concept came up. But when the idea was brought to me, I felt that it was a good opportunity to try something different. And since my traditional way of dating has failed me tremendously throughout my wonderful life, I thought 'Why not?' Why not try my hand at something different, and see if I can find that one out of 85? And it's been awesome. When I say awesome, I mean awesome.
This is just my first rodeo. I don't need to be jumping into something like that, trying to create and trying to add input. All I wanted was to be me. I'm not doing anything that's scripted, and the things I'm going to do are going to come off as if there were no cameras rolling. So what you're getting, what you're seeing is my normal day-to-day life when I'm interacting with females. So what you see is exactly how I really am.

Write about the Pittsburgh Steelers
I want to acknowledge NFL.com this year. They have upgraded their free Steelers jerseys Fantasy Football and it is spectacular. They pretty much gave you a league where you can control everything from points scored to how many people you can draft. For those of you who think this is no big thing, last year some leagues cost up to $120 or more depending on where you went. I just want to commend NFL.com for giving this gift to Fantasy Football players everywhere and if you don't join my league, you should at least join a league on NFL.com. Now that I have that out of the way, I want to encourage everyone to try and join the Kittanning Paper Fantasy Football League this year. I said earlier how it was a huge success last season and this year I want it to be even better. Like last year, the winner will receive a trophy, but this year I'm going to throw in a mystery prize and do an article about the winner. I am trying to get a few people to join the league that you all know, but there are limited spots because I'm only doing a league of 12 people.
The new Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys have lost Willie Colon for the season, have traded away former Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes and will be without Ben Roethlisberger during his 4-6 game suspension.
But Hines Ward remains the soul of the team, and he doesn't expect the Steelers' play to slip simply because they've lost big names.

San Diego Chargers
If any situation calls for an arbitrator, Jackson and the San Diego Chargers should be locked in a room until they reach a solution. This is a standoff in which both sides lose.
As a talent, Jackson is an unappreciated gem. He's evolved behind Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson, so he was rarely going to be better than the third option for Philip Rivers. But Jackson and Rivers connect on some of the toughest routes in football. Gates and Jackson probably catch more deep throws against tight coverage than any pass-catchers in football.
With a career 17.2-yard average and back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Jackson has put himself in position to ask for the $10 million a year price tag of Marshall or Larry Fitzgerald. But his timing was all wrong. The salary cap is temporarily gone and the six-year free agency requirement robbed Jackson of the chance to secure the big bucks. He was a restricted free agent in a year long-term deals were restricted by teams.
The other problem is the suspension. Jackson is operating under the notion he will wipe out his three-game suspension by not signing a contract until three weeks into the regular season. Remember, unsigned players can't be fined for holdouts because they aren't under contract. The team believes he would still have to serve three games if he signs three weeks into the regular season. What a mess.
